Modular / Customization

Is your software designed in a modular / customizable fashion? It is preferable to design your software in this manner, this way OEM’s can choose either the existing features or you can design / add any further specific feature requirements they might request. This allows software developers to fit with the OEM’s target market with minimum delays and investment. Customization requirements can include Feature Set, User Interface, Dialog Boxes, Tray-bar pop ups, Loader and Installer.

Look and feel

Does your software allow for custom skins, full re-brands or co-brands? The goal when working with many OEM providers is to be seamlessly integrated into their hardware products or part of their broader software suite. Subsequently, the chosen software provider needs to develop the interface according to their requirements, to include items such as their logos, trademarks, etc.

Localization

How many languages do you currently support? In many cases, OEM providers require a minimum of 8-10 languages in order to bundle with them. Software providers should be able to react quickly to any language the OEM may require.

Worldwide Support

Are you able to support OEM providers globally? Typically OEM providers require that the software company provides 24/7 support for the products in multiple languages.
